The Almería International Film Festival (FICAL), in its 23rd edition, awards Kiko Medina Production Award to Reflections of a Green House. This award aims to promote the creation of films shot or recorded in the province of Almería as works of cultural and artistic interest, contributing to the enhancement of Almería's cultural heritage.
Reflections of a Green House is the new feature-length documentary by Almería-born director Antonio Morales. This project is characterized by its absolute respect for the director's universe, opting for an authentic cinematic language. The production was led by Nadadora Films y coproducida por Agape Contenido. El proyecto ha sido premiado en Doclisboa, seleccionado en los laboratorios LABED y Cinema Lab 2024. Cuenta con el apoyo de la Unión Europea, el ICAA y el IMDEEC.
Antonio Morales debuted in 2017 with Marisa in the Woods, presented at the Seville European Film Festival and screened at more than 40 international festivals. His third film No Ghost Inside, was shot entirely in New York.
Reflections of a Green House takes place in the heart of western Almería, amid greenhouses and migration tensions, two teenagers plot to sneak into a Rosalía concert. Meanwhile, La Perra Martínez toils in her animal feed warehouse, making a Scheherazade-inspired dress. And little Thalía dreams of her big moment: being crowned Queen of the festivities.
Receiving this award at FICAL, and doing so for a film so meaningful to us, is a true honor. At Agape Contenido we believe it is an intimate, poetic, and visually powerful work that connects memory and home with the Almeria we experienced through a contemplative narrative. This recognition also highlights the way we work, building flexible, cohesive teams committed to the project. This documentary represents exactly the type of cinema we believe in: close, honest and deeply human.
